It’s that time of year again, when nature’s changing of the guard takes place. Boat docks are left empty as the boats go into winter storage, and the gulls congregate for travel south.
Some people travel south as well, leaving once-busy picnic tables empty. Rafts of waterfowl huddle on nearby lakes preparing for the flight south. The annual migration has begun. Those of us who remain in flyover country watch the rapid changes speed past in magnificent succession.
